Lost or Stolen Cards or PINs and Problems with Transactions
  • If your Mississippi EBT Card is ever lost or stolen, please call the Mississippi EBT Cardholder Service Center at 1-866-512-5087, 1-877-906-0085(TTY) immediately to cancel your card. Your SNAP benefits will be protected as soon as you report your card lost or stolen; a new Mississippi EBT Card will be issued to you, assuming the mailing address on-file is correct. If the mailing address on-file is not correct, please contact your Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) Case Worker to update your mailing address and request a new card. Please allow 5-7 business days for the delivery of your new card. You may continue using your current 4-digit PIN as it will be transferred to your new card. You do not have to select a new 4-digit PIN when a new card is issued.


  • If your 4-digit PIN is ever lost, stolen or otherwise compromised, please call the Mississippi EBT Cardholder Service Center at 1-866-512-5087, 1-877-906-0085(TTY) immediately to select a new 4-digit PIN and protect your SNAP benefits.








  • You will receive one FREE replacement card every 12 months. A $2 fee is deducted from your account for each additional replacement card. Once the 12 month period is over, you will receive another FREE replacement card.


  • Misuse of your SNAP benefits is a violation of State and Federal laws.

    DO NOT:
    • Sell, trade or give away your SNAP benefits, 4-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) or Mississippi EBT Card. The SNAP benefits in your EBT account are ONLY for your household.
    • Allow a retailer to buy your SNAP benefits in exchange for cash.
    • Use someone else’s SNAP benefits or Mississippi EBT card for your household.


    What should I know about my Cash account?

    • You can buy non-grocery items with your Cash benefits, such as cleaning products, pet food, and paper products.
    • Some grocery stores will let you get cash from your cash account.
    • You can get your Cash benefits from any ATM displaying the Quest logo.
    • You may have to pay a surcharge at the ATM.
    • Cash withdrawals will cost you $1.00 each.
    • You can use your Mississippi EBT Card even if your Cash case is closed as long as you have benefits left in your account.
    • Your benefits will be removed from your account if there has not been any financial activity (such as a cash purchase) on your account in the past 180 days. You will need to contact your local Mississippi Department of Social Services office to have your benefits re-issued.


    What is a Personal Identification Number (PIN)?

    • A Personal Identification Number (PIN) is a 4-digit number that you select to activate your Mississippi EBT Card. You CANNOT use your Mississippi EBT Card until you select a 4-digit PIN.
    • To select a 4-digit PIN, please call the Mississippi EBT Cardholder Service Center at 1-866-512-5087, 1-877-906-0085(TTY) and follow the prompts. Please have the following information available before calling to select your 4-digit PIN:
      - Your 16-digit Mississippi EBT Card number located on the front of your card;
      - Your Social Security Number (SSN); and
      - Your Date of Birth (DOB).
    • Select a PIN that is easy for you to remember, but hard for someone else to guess or figure out if you lose your card.
    • Do NOT give your 4-digit PIN to anyone, including the grocery store clerk.
    • Do NOT write your 4-digit PIN on your card or on anything you carry with you in your purse or wallet in case it is ever lost or stolen.
    • If you ever forget your PIN or just want/need to change it, please call the Mississippi EBT Cardholder Service Center at 1-866-512-5087, 1-877-906-0085(TTY) and follow the prompts. Please have the following information available before calling to select your 4-digit PIN:





    - Your 16-digit Mississippi EBT Card number located on the front of your card;
    - Your Social Security Number (SSN); and
    - Your Date of Birth (DOB).

    How do I use my Mississippi EBT Card at the store?
    • Make sure you have selected your 4-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) before going shopping. Please remember your 4-digit PIN; Do NOT write your 4-digit PIN on your card or on anything you carry with you in your purse or wallet in case it is ever lost or stolen.
    • Your Mississippi EBT Card can be used at any authorized retailer displaying the Quest® logo or that accepts the Mississippi EBT Card. If you do not see the Quest® logo on display, contact the retail stores’ Customer Service staff to be sure they accept the Mississippi EBT Card.
    • Shop for your groceries.
    • At the checkout lane, notify the clerk that you will be using your Mississippi EBT Card. The clerk will enter the transaction amount in the Point-of-Sale (POS) machine and direct you to slide your card in the machine or the clerk may ask for your card to enter the 16-digit card number. The clerk should NOT leave the area with your Mississippi EBT Card.
    • Make sure the purchase amount in the POS machine window is correct.
    • Enter your 4-digit PIN. DO NOT GIVE THE CLERK YOUR 4-DIGIT PIN.




    Make sure the purchase amount on the receipt is the same as the amount you spent. If the receipt is wrong, tell the clerk right away. Keep the receipt as a record of your current SNAP benefit balance.


    How do I use my card at the ATM?

    • Insert your card into the ATM.
    • Enter your PIN.
    • Press the button for WITHDRAWAL.
    • Press the button for CHECKING.
    • Enter the dollar amount.
    • If the ATM screen tells you that a surcharge will be charged and you do not want to pay it, cancel the transaction by pressing the CANCEL button and try another ATM.
    • Press the button for CORRECT to go on if the amount is right, or CANCEL to stop if the amount is wrong.


    How do I protect my Mississippi EBT Card?

    • If your Mississippi EBT Card is ever lost or stolen, please call the Mississippi EBT Cardholder Service Center at 1-866-512-5087, 1-877-906-0085(TTY) immediately to cancel your card. Your SNAP benefits will be protected as soon as you report your card lost or stolen; a new Mississippi EBT Card will be issued to you, assuming the mailing address on-file is correct. Please allow 5-7 business days for the delivery of your new card.
    • When entering your 4-digit PIN to make a SNAP purchase, be sure no one else can see the numbers you are entering. Your SNAP benefits will not be replaced if your 4-digit PIN was used to authorize a SNAP purchase.
    • If you think someone else knows your 4-digit PIN, please call the Mississippi EBT Cardholder Service Center at 1-866-512-5087, 1-877-906-0085(TTY) immediately to select a new 4-digit PIN and protect your SNAP benefits.
    • Always keep your Mississippi EBT Card away from direct sun light, magnets and electronic equipment (i.e., cell phones, televisions and microwaves).
    • DO NOT SCRATCH THE BLACK MAGNETIC STRIPE ON THE BACK OF YOUR CARD.
    • DO NOT BEND OR FOLD YOUR CARD.

    Erroneous or Unknown SNAP Purchase Transactions?

    If you identify erroneous SNAP purchase transactions on your EBT account or transactions that you did not make, please call the Mississippi EBT Cardholder Service Center at 1-866-512-5087, 1-877-906-0085(TTY) immediately. Please discuss the issue with a Customer Service Representative (CSR); the CSR will initiate the transaction dispute process, as needed. To protect your SNAP benefits, it may be necessary to cancel and re-issue your Mississippi EBT Card.
